Our upcoming bicycle tour is set for Monday, August 18, 2025, running through Saturday, and this year we will ride along one of Austria’s most scenic cycling routes: the Murradweg in Styria. The journey begins in Michael im Lungau and will take us all the way down to Bad Radkersburg, following the course of the Mur River as it winds through valleys, vineyards, and historic towns.
This tour is special because my son, Steven, will be joining us for the first time. Alongside our trusted companion Rudi, who has been part of our past adventures, the three of us are ready to take on this new route together. Having Steven with us adds a fresh sense of excitement and makes the experience even more meaningful.
Over the past two years, Rudi and I have built a tradition of tackling long-distance rides across Austria. In 2023, we covered the distance from Vienna to Passau in just five days, testing our endurance and discovering the joy of the open road. The following year, in 2024, we took things a step further by cycling from Innsbruck to Linz, a route that challenged us with alpine passes and rewarded us with breathtaking views.
Each tour has left us with unforgettable memories, and we hope that this year’s journey will be just as rewarding. The Murradweg is known not only for its beauty but also for the cultural and culinary stops along the way, from rustic taverns to charming Styrian villages.
We look forward to the rhythm of the pedals, the shared laughter, and the satisfaction of reaching Bad Radkersburg together. If past tours are any measure, this one will once again become a story worth remembering.
